Are the figures being released by top nationalised banks like State Bank of India (SBI) pertaining to CD ratio in Uttaranchal false?

Indian Industries Association (IIA), a body of small and medium industries of Utaranchal, has put a question mark on the new figures which were released during the state level bankers committee (SLBC) meet here recently.

In a letter to Chief Minister ND Tiwari, IIA President Pankaj Gupta said the figures pertaining to CD ratio released by the state bankers did not tally with those of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).

Top officials of SBI and PNB were tightlipped over the issue and said they would react only after studying it in detail.

"If we peruse the September 2005 figures that were presented during the last SLBC meeting, it shows an increase by about eight per cent over March 2005 data," Gupta said.
