Convention bureau in Hyd

Hyderabad is planning to launch 'Visit Hyderabad', a city convention bureau to provide a comprehensive integrated solutions to conventions, on October 27, Jayesh Ranjan, principal secretary, state tourism said.

Ranjan was speaking to reporters at the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA), a global network of suppliers to the international meetings industry, that began its 49th annual meeting here on Monday. A small meeting segment, which ranges between 1,000 and 2,000 people has a great scope for growth in India. Around 86 per cent of the meetings are happening with less than 1,000 participants, he said. ICCA, with 900 members spread across 86 countries, is organising its meeting for the first time in India.

 

The three-day event will see 700 delegates from 60 countries.
