Convention on chemical weapons

The Indian Chemical Manufacturers Association (ICMA), in collaboration with the ministry of chemiclas & fertilisers and Narcotics Control Bureau, is conducting a workshop in Hyderabad on 'Chemical Weapons Convention & Handilng of Precursors Chemicals' on November 13.

Hyderabad was chosen for the workshop since it had emerged as a hub of bulk drugs and intermediate chemicals units, ICMA said in a release.

The workshop will dwelve upon compliance with the chemical weapons convention act and the narcotic drugs and psychotropic drugs act.

Awareness about theese acts assumes significance in view of the rapid growth in the industry and the potential for possible devastating efects resulting out of negligence or ignorance among the industry players, the release added.
