The Gujarat state council of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), in association with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) and Crisil, will organise a workshop on 'Corporate governance' in Ahmedabad on Saturday. |
The workshop aims at creating awareness among companies about the methodology underlying the corporate governance rating. |
FICCI officials said Crisil will make a presentation on this unique rating methodology that has been developed by it to rate the corporate governance level of companies. |
Hasmukh Adhiya, additional principal secretary to the chief minister, will be the chief guest at the workshop which will be held at Hotel Taj Residency, Ummed. |
The ratings "" Corporate Governance and Value Creating Ratings (Crisil GVC Ratings) is a model that fully addresses the issue by providing an independent assessment of an entity's performance and future expectation on a balanced value creation through sound governance practices. The model also looks at value creation and distribution among stakeholders of the company such as shareholders, debt holders, customers, employees, suppliers and the society at large, the organisors said. The session will be addressed by T M Nagarajan, whole-time member of Sebi, Arun Panicker, director, rating, of Crisil and Zydus Cadila Healthcare Ltd chairman Pankaj Patel. |
Senior representatives from the corporate and financial sector will participate in the workshop, a FICCI release said. |
