A survey has found that the corporate sector is overwhelmingly in favour of companies disclosing their funding of political parties or candidates contesting elections. |
The companies contributing money to political parties should also be eligible for tax concessions, the respondents to the survey, carried out by Indian Chamber of Commerce, said. |
The quick survey, which sought to gauge the corporate sector's perceptions about the forthcoming general elections, revealed that 86 per cent of respondents, from a sample of 100 companies, favoured disclosure of poll funding in public documents of the companies. |
According to the respondents, the companies fear they would be discriminated against should a political party, not funded by them, is voted to power. |
