Costly vegetables keep inflation above 5%

Inflation based on the wholesale price index (WPI) moved up to 5.32% for the week ended December 9, 2006 from 5.16% in the previous week, mainly due to the increase in prices of some food articles including vegetables.

Inflation based on the WPI was 4.39% in the corresponding week of the previous year.
