Covid-19 stress: Companies may not get immediate relief measures

Some of the exemptions given as part of Covid relief measures last year would come to an end in June 2021

With no national lockdown amid a surge in Covid incidents and no rush for filing new corporate insolvency cases, the government is not considering any immediate set of relief measures for companies.
 
Last year, after the pandemic hit India, the government had announced a slew of measures to ease the pressure on companies.
 
One of the steps taken was suspension of the insolvency and bankruptcy code (IBC). The corporate affairs ministry had also pushed deadlines for filing annual reports, allowing virtual board meetings in light of the national lockdown.
