CPI asks Delhi to annul power pact

Urging Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit to implement her "threat" to take the "last step" against power distribution companies in Delhi, CPI general secretary and president of the All-India Federation of Electricity Employees A B Bardhan today asked the government to annul the privatisation agreement and restore the Delhi Vidyut Board (DVB).

The two Reliance discoms operating in Delhi have demanded a further dose of subsidy from the Delhi state government failing which they will increase power tariff, according to a statement issued by Bardhan.
