"Travel across LoC be simplified and not confined to divided families," a resolution passed at the convention of CPI(M)'s Shopian district committee said.
The resolution demanded promotion of trade on the routes and introduction of joint cooperative mechanism. The party also demanded completion of the Mughal Road, an alternative to the Srinagar-Jammu national highway, on war footing, absorption of unemployed local youth on the project, rationalisation of electricity fee structure, regular and quality power supply to the consumers, ensure adequate supply of ration, kerosene oil, LPG and other essential commodities in the state. The convention was chaired by veteran communist leader and MLA Mohammad Khalil Naik.
