CPI (M)-RSS clash:Pranab speaks to Patil, YSR

Many may see the clashes between CPI (M) and RSS cadre as a matter between the Sangh Parivar and the red brigade, but External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee is not among them.

After the CPI (M) office was allegedly attacked by members of the Hindu Manch in Delhi on Sunday and in Secunderabad on Monday, Mukherjee called up Home Minister Shivraj Patil and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y Rajashekhar Reddy on Monday evening to express his concern over the way the events have been playing out.

Mukherjee is reported to have told both Patil and Reddy that the events could have a ripple effect and could become a bigger problem across the country. The CPI (M) members and RSS cadre clashed in Dehradun - just proving his point.

Parliament has been repeatedly adjourned over the week over the issue with both sides claiming that the first stone was hurled by the other side. Yesterday
