Crude oil prices drop below $55/bl

Crude oil prices dropped below $55 per barrel after hitting a 19-month low yesterday.

Nymex crude was 66 cents lower at $54.98 in early London deals after dropping 45 cents yesterday.

London Brent crude was down 56 cents to $54.62.
