The proposed industrial area in Raigarh district landed in trouble as strong protest from the people forced the district administration to suspend the public hearing convened for environment clearance.
The state-run Chhattisgarh State Industrial Development Corporation (CSIDC) is setting up a major industrial area near Lara village in Raigarh district. The vehement protest from the villagers forced the authorities to bow down before the public pressure.
The Presiding Officer, N K Saharia in the evening announced that the public hearing had been suspended. The district administration had convened a public hearing on Saturday for environment clearance.
