CSO plans new price index for urban employees

The Central Statistical Organisation (CSO) has decided to do away with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) (Urban Non-Manual Employees). It will come out with a new index - Consumer Price Index (Urban) - by the middle of next year.

"As there was no use of the CPI (UNME) data, we decided to replace it with a new index," an official said.
