The government today said it has received six references from Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) regarding involvement of officials of the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) in corrupt activities.
This was disclosed by Minister of State for Human Resources Development D Purandeswari in the Lok Sabha.
The complaints pertain to irregularities in the grant of 'Letter of Intent' or 'Letter of Approval' and grant of accreditation, she said.
Independent inquiries are being conducted to fix responsibilities of the officials concerned in areas where the reports have established lapses on the part of the officials, Purandeswari said.
