Dahej SEZ to house two hospitality projects

Dahej SEZ will soon have two hospitality projects. Dahej Hospitality Pvt Ltd and Sapathagiri Hospitality Pvt Ltd are set to come with their hotel projects at Dahej SEZ, which recently became operational by making first export from the SEZ.

SEZ Board of Approval gave a green signal to Dahej Hospitality Pvt Ltd and Sapathagiri Hospitality Pvt Ltd to launch hospitality projects in Dahej SEZ.

"These two projects would be mainly hotels. Both the companies have received in principal approval from the government. The final details of the projects are likely to be worked out in next one to two months", said sources in Dahej SEZ.

 

As far as the hotel project is concerned, maximum 200 rooms are allowed in any SEZ. "This means that each company will set up a hotel with a capacity of 100 rooms. The estimated investment may be in the range of Rs. 150 crore for each project", sources revealed.

Neesa Leisure Ltd, the promoters of Cambay group of hotels, has been allotted a plot admeasuring 8.8 acres at Dahej SEZ for development of hotel, service apartments, convention center and commercial complex at Dahej SEZ as a co-developer with GIDC, according to the company's official website. The newly formed entity is called Dahej Hospitality.

Sapathagir will develop, maintain and operate hospitality project spread across 4 hectares in the SEZ. The services would be provided to units, residents and other establishments in the multi-product SEZ.

Both the players will have to send a seperate proposal for authorised operations, which will be approved by SEZ Board of Approval after the submission.

Dahej SEZ is a joint venture project between GIDC and ONGC. The work for Rs 13,000 crore petrochemical complex, an anchor project in the SEZ, has already been initiated by ONGC.
