The State Data Centre (SDC) project, a project being implemented under the National e-Governance Plan of the Government of India, is expected to be implemented fully in Orissa by October this year. Orissa is among the 10 states in the country where the project is slated to be implemented by October, says a report by the Department of Information Technology (DIT) of the Centre.
The other states where the SDC project will be implemented by that period are Tripura, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Sikkim, Nagaland, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Meghalaya and Haryana.
In all these states, the contracts for the project have been signed and work orders have been issued.
The SDC project is implemented in Orissa at an investment of Rs 75 crore and the amount is entirely funded by the Centre. The state level Centralised Data Centre in Orissa will have a centralized office at the Orissa Computer Application Centre.
This state-of-the-art data centre will maintain data of all the departments of the state government.
On a pan-India basis, 77338 CSCc have been rolled out of the targeted figure of 123,181.
