The Delhi Development Authority is ready with its master plan for Delhi-2021. The plan marks an important policy shift from land acquisition to redevelopment of the existing infrastructure facilities as it prepares to meet the needs of a projected population of 2.2 crore.

"In previous master plans, there has been emphasis on largescale land acquisition. But there have been huge gaps between the target and the actual acquisition. We are now making an important policy suggestion for redeveloping the existing structures," DDA vice-chairman Madhukar Gupta said here today, unveiling the highlights of the draft master plan for 2021.
