The government will decide on modalities for the proposed Expressways Authority of India to build high-speed road network in the country in six months.
“Land acquisition is important in any infrastructure project... it’s going to be another six months, states will have to decide on the alignment of roads... because the states have a larger road map,” Transport and Highways Minister Kamal Nath said on the sidelines of a Confederation of Indian Industry event.
He said the government would constitute an authority for expressways on the pattern of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to give impetus to development of expressways in the country. “Expressways should be looked at separately,” he added.
