The Exim policy has allowed sale of goods and services from the domestic tariff area (DTA) to special economic zones (SEZs) to be treated as exports.
This will entitle domestic suppliers to drawback or DEPB benefits apart from exemption from central sales tax or service tax. In the reverse flow, domestic sales by SEZs will be exempted from special additional duty.
