Delay in RTI info leads to fine for KMC officials

The amount of fine will be deducted from the salaries of the concerned officials at KMC. Pandurang Adsule, ex-KMC corporator had demanded the information on 16 February 2006 to the then KMC's information officer Vijay Karale who has now retired from service. The information was not given within a month as per statutory requirement and delayed for eleven months .

 

Subsequently, Adsule complained to the RTI commissioner who has now ordered that Rs 10,000 should be recovered from the then information officer Karale and remaining amount of Rs 15,000 be recovered from all those officers and employees who are responsible for the delay.
