The Delhi government will start issuing provisional certificates to the residents of unauthorised colonies in the city from from tomorrow.

"We will set up camps in various parts of Delhi beginning tomorrow to issue provisional certificates to the residents of unauthorised colonies," said Delhi Urban Development Minister Raj Kumar Chauhan.

Chauhan said top officials of the government will attend the camps and try to address the grievances of the residents.

Forty lakh people are at present living in 800 unauthorised colonies in Delhi.

The BJP-ruled MCD is opposed to the move of the government. Criticising the Delhi government over the issue, Chairman of Standing Committee Vijender Gupta had said the government was "politicising" the issue.
