A proposal by the participating countries of the Commonwealth Games not to allow use of dedicated lanes by non-Games vehicles for more than 17 hours in a day was rejected today by Delhi Government.

At a meeting with Chef de Missions of the participating countries, Delhi Government officials rejected the proposal saying it would create inconvenience to public at large.

They said the lanes will only be blocked for the public during the movement of Games vehicles, according to sources.

Besides the Chef de Missions of the countries, the meeting was attended by representatives of Games Organising Committee, Delhi Police, DDA and Delhi Government.
