Departments to list cleanliness steps in budget proposals

The central government has instructed all its ministries and departments to allocate a portion of their budget proposals for cleanliness initiatives and prepare a comprehensive plan for the next fiscal year.

Officials said a Swatch Action Plan (SAP) would be have to prepared by every ministry and department with detailed achievable timelines and budgets needed. These will form part of the ministry's budget allocation for the next financial year.
