The meeting of the party-government coordination committee took place at Deshmukh's official residence today. Rau and Alva, both of whom do not share a cordial relationship with Deshmukh, told him there was resentment in both rural and urban sections of the society over the government's performance.
Lok Sabha and Assembly election were only a year away and the government should speed up the implementation of the promises made by the party, they told Deshmukh.
Deshmukh complained about non-cooperation by the party's apparatus in his attempts to reach out to the people.
He also complained about he being not given permission to carry out a cabinet reshuffle, and making appointments to various state corporations and boards to remove the resentment among MLAs and senior party functionaries.
The issue of delimitation of constituencies and what should be the criteria for negotiations with the alliance partner for seat sharing was also discussed during the meeting, told the sources close to development.
