Senior Congress leader, Digvijay Singh created a fracas after his comments about involvement of Hindu radical outfits like RSS in the recent blasts in Mumbai.

Singh was in Ujjain yesterday when BJP wing Yuva Morcha started protesting Digvijay’s latest statement, subsequently triggering a brawl between Congress party workers accompanying Singh and Yuva Morcha activists. Several got injured in the process. Reportedly, Singh too lost his cool and chased some Yuva Morcha activists, who showed black flags to the Congress leader when he was coming out after inaugurating a hotel there.

Pandemonium gripped the house when state Chief Minister, Shivraj Singh Chouhan termed Digvijay Singh an anarchist. The House will debate the issue tomorrow afternoon. Leader of opposition in assembly Ajay Singh and others demanded an immediate debate on their adjournment motion and stalled the proceedings of question hour.

Later, Ajay Singh also alleged, “when an ex-chief minister is not safe, how can the BJP government ensure safety to a commoner? The government must reply. “ He also said that the BJP Yuva Morcha and Bajrang Dal activists attacked Digvijay Singh twice in the afternoon in Ujjain and near Shajapur later in the night when he was going back home to Raghogarh.

Parliament affairs minister, Narottam Mishra also traded charges and held Digvijay Singh responsible for the incident. He alleged, “ex-chief minister’s bid to take on the RSS turned into an ugly scrap as he (Digvijay Singh) and his party workers preparedly and intentionally beat up BJP youth activists who were waving off black flags in a democratic way.”
