Directive to expedite Posco mining clearance

In yet another attempt to expedite the Rs 52,000-crore Posco project, the Centre has issued a directive to the mines ministry to work with the Orissa government for resolving the stalemate over allocation of mining lease to the South Korean steel behemoth.

"We are working out a formula for a prospecting licence for Posco. We will surely come out with a solution shortly," Ajit Kumar Tripathi, Orissa's chief secretary, said.
