Two partners, one an NRI and the other a Czech industrialist, who planned an investment of more than Rs 100 crore in the pharma sector, turned hostile today at the Indore investors' meet.

The reason is that they had been asked to stay in a hotel which was according to them 'like dormitory'.

They had preferred Madhya Pradesh to Karnakata for setting up a joint venture unit of oncological products "" the first of its kind in Madhya Pradesh.

Despite Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan's claims of according red carpet welcome to investors who flocked to Indore for participating in the 'Global Investors' Meet', investors complained of humiliation and harassment.

"We want to set up an oncology unit and are looking for possibilities either in Madhya Pradesh or Karnakata. Since land in Karnataka is too costly, we came to Indore to see the investment climate but our experience has been horrible," Sameer Shrivastava, a non-resident Indian and promoter of Alter Ego Ltd, Ukraine, told Business Standard on the phone from Indore.

Meanwhile, another industry source objected to the fact that personal assistants of politicians had been allowed to stay in five-star hotels.

The Indore investors' meet could not attract investors of repute barring Anil Ambani who presented the Sasan ultra mega power project once again.
