Describing the dismissal of the Suresh Mehta government in Gujarat as a conspiracy of the United Front government and the Congress to dislodge a democratically-elected government and to instal a non-BJP government in the state at a later date, the BJP on Thursday decided to fight the Centre's gameplan on the political and legal planes.
Although the party has yet to assess its legal position on the move, politically it will organise mass demonstrations in all state capitals and other important towns on Friday, followed by a Gujarat bandh on Saturday.
It has asked all its state units to immediately start mass mobilisation. The party has also contacted its allies
