MDMK leader Vaiko today alleged that the DMK and Congress had won the May 13 Lok Sabha polls in Tamil Nadu using money and muscle power.

Both parties had 'exploited' the poverty-stricken people in the state and spent crores of rupees in each constituency to win the polls, Vaiko told reporters.

He alleged that his defeat in Virudhunagar constituency was due to irregularities and manipulation of the EVM.

"There was a difference in votes polled and counted, clearly indicating that EVMs can be manipulated," he said. Similar was the case in Sivaganga constituency, involving AIADMK's Raja Kannappan, who was defeated by just over 3,500 votes by Congress' P Chidambaram, Vaiko said.
