The team of doctors in most of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC)-run hospitals worked for 25-30 hours to cope with the rush of blast victims. |
"Our doctors worked continuously for the last 25-30 hours. Now, the situation has been brought under control. Most of the patients with minor injuries have been discharged while a few others are undergoing treatment", said officials of city corporation's Sion Hospital in central Mumbai. |
BMC runs the two hospitals where most of the affected people were admitted. |
"The doctors and the staff here treated us efficiently. We are satisfied with the way the whole machinery functioned after the tragedy," said Biju Nair, a Dombivali resident who was injured in the blast at Mahim. |
Deepak Kadam, a Western Railway employee, who was a victim of another blast at Matunga station said, "I was brought here by some local people who rescued us after the blast. After coming here, the hospital doctors treated me and I am satisfied with the treatment." |
