Mumbai/Jaipur: Police in Maharashtra cast doubts on the threat to life of Salman Rushdie from "paid assassins" from Mumbai that led the controversial India-born author to pull out of the Jaipur Literary Festival.

Jaipur: The Salman Rushdie row refuses to blow over with the controversial author slamming Rajasthan police for "inventing" a threat to his life to keep him away from the Jaipur Literature Festival.

Chhindwara (MP): Madhya Pradesh minister Gauri Shankar Bisen, who landed in a controversy after he was caught by TV cameras getting his shoe laces tied by a tribal boy, apologises for the incident and swears he would only wear shoes without laces from now onwards.
