DoT to expedite licensing process

The department of telecom has set up a 3-member committee to expedite the process of granting national (NLD) and international long distance (ILD) licences to applicant companies.

The objective of this committee will be to cut on the time period in granting licences to companies who often complain of delays.

Currently, there are 15 NLD and 6 ILD applications lying  with the department for approval since the licence fee and revenue share were reduced to 2.5 crore and 6% respectively earlier, DoT said in a release today.
