Dow flirts with record high; ADRs mixed

The Dow Jones industrial average gained 29 points at 11,718, the index was just three points shy from its record closing high touched in 2000. The index touched an intra-day high of 11,728, while its all-time record intra-day high is 11,750. The Nasdaq moved up seven points to 2270.

Indian ADRs ended on a mixed note. ICICI Bank rallied 1.5% to $30.64. Wipro and MTNL were up nearly 1% each at $13.13 and $6.61, respectively. Satyam and Dr.Reddy's slipped 2% each to $38.80 and $15.82, respectively. Infosys and VSNL were the other notable losers. 

The crude oil futures for November delivery slipped 20 cents to settle at $62.76 per barrel on the NYMEX.
