Dow gains 57pts; Patni ADR zooms 8%

A spike in crude oil prices fueled rally in energy stocks thereby lifting Dow Jones industrial average by 57 points to end at 12,534. The Nasdaq ended flat at 2431.

Indian ADRs ended on a mixed note - Patni Computers zoomed 7.8% to $22.09. Satyam, ICICI Bank and HDFC Bank moved up 1.7% each to $24.03, $44.54 and $75.89, respectively. Infosys spurted 1.5% to $57.59.

On the other hand, Dr.Reddy's tumbled 4.7% to $17.29. VSNL and Tata Motors slipped 1% each to $21.78 and $21.78, respectively.
