Dow up 150pts on late buying; ADRs end in red

Heavy buying at the fag end of the day saw the Dow Jones industrial average surge 150 points to 13,362. The Nasdaq was up eight points at 2554.

Indian ADRs ended mostly in red. Patni Computers plunged 5.5% to $22.19. Sterlite slumped 3.5% to $15.68. Wipro, HDFC Bank, MTNL, VSNL and Tata Motors declined 1-2% each to $14.42, $85, $7.15, $22.45 and $16.97, respectively. ICICI Bank, however, gained 1% at $44.73.
