The Campus Law Centre, Faculty of Law, University of Delhi, concluded its placements for the 2008 batch with the highest annual pay package of Rs 6 lakh. The average pay package was between Rs 3.5-4 lakh. It was for the first time that placements were organised on a large scale. Law firms like Wadia Ghandy and Co., DSK Legal, Desai & Diwanji, Seth Dua and Associates and Amarchand Managaldas, companies like ICICI Lombard, Mawana Sugars, Inter Globe and IFCI and legal process outsourcing (LPO) firms like Pangea 3, United Lex and Mindcrest recruited students from the institute. "A majority of students opt for litigation and work with lawyers having individual practice. This year, we have seen a shift towards corporate law firms. Students are keen on working with law firms than for companies or LPOs," said S C Raina, professor in- charge, Faculty of Law. Gide Loyrette Nouel, a prominent international law firm based in France, also recruited students. The Faculty of Law hopes to get more recruiters from overseas in the future. |
