The vitrified-tile industry has urged the government to impose provisional anti-dumping duty on vitrified and porcelain tiles imported from China and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), at the earliest.
The commerce ministry had recommended the imposition of anti-dumping duty on these products in December.
The ministry wanted to ensure that the minimum landed price of imported vitrified or porcelain tiles did not violate the $13.62 per-square-metre level. But, the ministry of finance had not released any notification on the issue yet, an industry source said.
