East Coast Railway (ECoR) has planned to undertake a master plan for upgradation of passenger amenities in some Inter-City trains in its jurisdiction.
The thrust of upgradation will be on good looking coach fittings with improved toilets, announcement and music facilities in coaches, improved catering arrangements, smart and efficient on-board staff, availability of drinking water in trains and on-board arrangements for cleaning of coaches.
To start with, this upgradation plan will be implemented in Puri-Sambalpur Inter City express, Bhubaneswar-Bolangir Intercity express and Bhubaneswar-Visakhapatnam Inter City express.
The decision for upgradation of these inter-city trains was taken at a meeting convened by Ajay Kumar Goyal, the general manager of ECoR with the different departmental heads of the zonal railway.
