The Enforcement Directorate (ED) yesterday questioned former Union minister Krishnakumar in connection with the documents seized during the raids carried out by the Income Tax department in November last year. Krishnakumar arrived at the ED headquarters in the afternoon and his interrogation continued well past 6 pm. The details of the interrogation could not be ascertained. Finance ministry sources said documents seized during Income-Tax raids in November had revealed irregularities regarding a Chennai-based export company. A huge sum is also said to have been spent by Krishnakumar in Dubai.
This is being probed by the ED sleuths.
It is believed that this is just the beginning of the interrogation for the former minister. Ministry sources said he could be summoned again after his statements are compared with the evidence that the sleuths have.
