The sales of Dish TV’s mobile direct-to-home (DTH) units in the northern region have received a boost due to the ongoing general elections, said Shailender Goyal, deputy vice president (north), Dish TV. The region comprises Punjab, Himachal and Jammu and Kashmir

He, however, did not share the figures of mobile DTH units the company sold in the recent past. He was here to launch new packs. A mobile DTH unit comes with a special built-in roving antenna that can receive DTH signals even when the vehicle is on the move.

Apart from targeting politicians in the region, the company is also in talks with bus operators and luxury fleet owners in the region for installing the system. Dish TV already has installed these units in a few aircraft of Kingfisher Airlines besides trains.
