Engineering goods, gems top exports

According to data compiled by the Directorate General of Commercial Intelligence and Statistics, engineering goods exports during the first seven months of the current financial year touched $ 7.51 billion, while gems and jewellery exports were valued at $ 7.41 billion.
 
Other items in the top 10 commodities exported included textiles ($ 6.9 billion), chemicals and related products ($ 6.4), petroleum products ($ 3.63), agriculture and allied products ($ 2.94), ores and minerals, leather and manufacturers, electronic goods and marine products.
 
Exports to the US touched $7.6 billion during April-October, while exports to the UAE touched $ 3.54 billion. Other countries in the top 10 export destinations includes China, the UK, Hong Kong, Singapore, Germany, Belgium, Italy and Japan.
