Engineers to focus on habitat issue

At a one-day celebration of the 'world habitat day' on October 21, engineers and photographers of Mysore will focus on technical issues relating to the year's theme 'millennium development goals and the city' and photographic feature on environmental and conservation issues.

The one-day seminar will elaborate the issues in three topics - infrastructure and poverty, squatter improvement and water and sanitation acceleration of provision.

Each topic will holistically elaborate physical environment, social and institutional, economy and financial aspects, said Institution of Engineers, Mysore chairman P J Bharadwaj.

Briefing newsmen on the programmes today, he said they are aimed at creating an awareness among the people, on issues like poverty, illiteracy.
