Ennore Port Plans Rs 1000-Crore Spread; Turnover Soars 89 Pc

Ennore Port Limited (EPL) has embarked on a Rs1000 crore expansion project that would beef up its handling capacity at coal, marine liquid and iron ore terminals and a new realigned railway line improving its logistic efficiency for handling thermal coal.

EPL has recorded a turnover of Rs 77.69 crore for the year ended March 2003. In its first nine months of commercial operation ending March 2002, the company recorded a turnover of Rs 30.78 crore, resulting in an 89 per cent jump on an annualized basis.

Addressing a press gathering in Chennai, M Raman, the chairman-cum-managing director, EPL said,
