To promote awareness on global warming related issues, Mayor Bikash Ranjan Bhattacharya today said that an environment fair would be organised in the city from Dec 27-30.
"We want the people of the city to be aware of various issues related with our environment, global warming in particular. So we have decided to organise this fair, which will act as a platform for the purpose," Bhattacharya said.
Being organised in association with an NGO, the four-day fair would have discussion forums and seminars at the St Paul's Cathedral grounds.
The issues which would be highlighted through the fair include global warming, pollution, climate change and deforestation. Former Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee will inaugurate the fair on December 27.
