The 100 per cent export-oriented units (EOUs) in the state, registered 12 per cent growth in exports during the first nine months of the current fiscal, compared to the same period in the last fiscal.
There are as many as 116 manufacturing units registered as 100 per cent EOUs with the office of development commissioner of the Visakhapatnam Special Economic Zone(VSEZ).
According to VSEZ sources, during the current year, exports of these units touched to Rs 950 crore, as against Rs 850 crore in the same period of the last year.
Last fiscal total exports were recorded at Rs 1327 crore and this figure might touch the level of Rs 1400 crore for the current year, officials anticipated. Mainly these exports were generated from the sectors like pharmaceuticals, textiles, garments, coffee and granites units.
