The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) is issuing social security numbers (SSN) to provident fund subscribers as part of an exercise to speed up settlement process. |
"On completion of this process, the Provident Fund (PF) office will be in a position to settle claims much faster than at present and members may get online information regarding their provident fund account," a release issued here today said. |
All employers and employees covered under the EPF & MP Act, 1952, and falling under the jurisdiction of the regional office, Mumbai-I, Bandra, have been asked to collect blank SSN forms from the PF office. |
They could also download such forms from EPFO's official website www.Epfindia.Com or www.Epfindia.Gov.In, a release issued here today said. They are required to submit the filled-in SSN forms to the EPFO office within a month. |
Employers, who were earlier issued SSN forms, have to submit such forms duly completed immediately. The EPFO stated that this was a time-bound exercise and, therefore, employers were required to strictly adhere to the prescribed time limit of one month. |
