Mostly lured by higher pay packages, people are becoming more willing to relocate to a new place for their jobs, a new survey by global human resource consultancy major Manpower says.

The Manpower survey of nearly 30,000 people revealed that 79 per cent of candidates are willing to relocate for work, with increased pay accounting for motivating factor for over 82 per cent of those looking to move.

"Todays labour force is highly mobile in a way the world has never seen before. Talent is on the move, both within and across national borders; and as a result, the face of the global workforce is changing dramatically," Manpower India Managing Director Naresh Malhan said.

The factors behind this trend ranges from shifts in demography, job requirements and a growing shortage of talent but mainly due to the fact that individuals are open to the idea and are also able to find employment far away from their homes.

Relocating for work has many benefits whether they are financial, cultural or career and business-related but in all cases workers need to carefully consider the implications of their relocation on every aspect of their lives.

"They need to be realistic about the challenges that lie ahead as well as the enrichment that will be brought to their careers and cultural experiences that they will encounter as a result of working abroad," Malhan added.
