Ex-President Narayanan dead

Former President K R Narayanan died today at the army research and referral hospital here.

Narayanan, 84, was suffering from pneumonia and renal failure, and breathed his last at 1745 hours, according to a defence ministry spokesman quoting a bulletin issued by the hospital.

Narayanan was admitted to the army hospital on October 29 after he complained of acute breathlessness. As his condition deteriorated, he was put on life support system since October 31.
