Expect another volatile day today

Follow-up buying in early morning deals is likely to see the Sensex open with yet another positive gap. However, the index is likely to face strong resistance around the 12,585 levels.

Intra-day profit-taking could see the index seek support around 12,440-12,400 levels. A sustained drop below 12,390 could see an acceleration in the downmove.

Aarti Drugs, Bharat Bijlee, Ganesh Housing, NMDC, Asian Paints, Cromptom Greaves and J B Chemicals are scheduled to announce their earnings today.
