Exports Of Woollen Products Up 70%

The exports of woollen products have shot up to Rs 1665.84 crore in 2000-01 from Rs 982.18 crore in 1999-2000, a growth of whopping 70 per cent.

According to an estimate made by Woolmark, while the export of woollen ready-made garments has clocked a growth of 80 per cent, from Rs 765.57 crore in 1999-2000 to Rs 1374.48 crore 2000-01, those of woollen yarn, fabrics and made-ups are up by 34 per cent from Rs 216.61 crore to Rs 291.36 crore during the same period.
